"It's good to have Roger back on the Cowboys active roster," said Jones Sr., owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, in a statement.
"His tremendous success and experience in commercial real estate brings a world of credibility to this project, and fits what we are doing at The Star from a big picture perspective perfectly," he added. "We also know that Robert Shaw, another of our former players, has a unique background specifically with this type of project."
Shaw, a Dallas real estate developer and CEO of Columbus Realty, said he plans on building a place for fans.
"It's more than housing," Shaw added. "It's about the Cowboys fan lifestyle."
The would-be residents are expected to have special benefits, such as exclusive access to events, as part of their commitment to the tower.
Plans for the high-rise include roughly 160 apartment homes that could be used part- or full-time by residents. Each apartment will be an average of 1,200 square feet.
Stauback said it was great for Shaw and himself to be back with the team again. Collectively, he said, they will make it something special.
Construction is slated to get underway in January 2018, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2019.
